Sleep well...!!

This commercial was shot for Sleepwell Mattress.
Director : Vinil Mathew
Producer : Swadha Kulkarni
DOP : Andre Menezes
Production House : Footcandles Film Pvt Ltd

Crazy ad...! Yes, that's the first comment that comes to my mind. Do people become so absent minded that they put a compact disc in the toaster instead of a bread...??? ha ha ha!! But good portrayal of showing the necessity of a proper sleep. On the whole a highly exaggerated ad claiming that only sleepwell mattress offers a relaxing sleep.

But overall the new series of sleepwell ads, the cast have done well (acting wise)...

My overall rating (on a scale of 5): ** (2)

Surf Excel - "Daag acche hain na!"

This commercial was shot for Surf Excel Washing Powder.
Director : Vinil Mathew
Producer : Swadha Kulkarni
DOP : C.K. Muralidharan
Production House : Footcandles Film Pvt Ltd

This ad caught my attention at the first look itself. How sweetly the little kid is able to bring his teacher out of the agony over the loss of her pet dog...! Really touching one! Choice of act, choice of situation, selection of actors for the identified role... everything seems to be good! Even the background score is soothing. The little boy has acted very well. This ad in way brings out the innocent side of the kids who can never see their dear ones sad... hats off to the the ad maker...!

The darker side: Though the kid seems to have enjoyed doing this act, I feel it was really hard for him to execute it. It would have even hurt him. May be it was too much for the kid to deliver. Ad makers need to be more careful while assigning such difficult acts to kids!

My overall rating (on a scale of 5): **** (4)
